On the 12th and 13th of January 2019, we held the very first training on the WYSIWYG application here in Ghana.
The training which was held on Saturday and Sunday was attended by a total of 43 participants. Both sessions were held at the Creative Writing Academy in Accra.
Each session of the programme was split into two periods which was interspersed by a break.
During the first part of the session, participants were given a general overview of websites. This includes the definitions of a website, jargons used in website creation, the changes websites have encountered over the years as well as the importance of websites. At this stage, participants were also introduced to the WYSIWYG application and some of the tools that the application employed.
The second part of the session was a practical session. This gave the participants an opportunity to use the application. Participants were led by an instructor to create a website of their own. They were also assisted by other training personnel whenever they had a problem with the process.
The training was put together by DapsonIshmeal Web Hub in order to equip interested persons with the requisite skills needed to create websites. The company's owner believes that the use of the aforementioned application will arouse the interest of participants since there was little or no coding involved in creating a website with it.
The programme was also put together to equip participants with the requisite skills in website creation while exposing them to the new tools that made their work faster and easier.
At the end of the two day training programme, it was evident that the participants had learnt a lot and were ready to impact and transform the lives of other people while ensuring that they could also make a livelihood from the skills that had acquired.
